Bonsai Finance Strengthens Its Commitment To Financial Literacy And Inclusion Through A Partnership With Operation Hope

Bonsai Finance and Operation HOPE, the leading global financial dignity and economic empowerment nonprofit organization, have entered into a long-term commitment to bring financial literacy to people across the country and to continue empowering underbanked and unbanked populations through financial education.

Bonsai Finance will serve as Operation HOPE´s exclusive online partner in providing financial education by hosting Operation HOPE´s content in an interactive learning portal on its website. The content partnership will support cost-free financial education and counseling to underserved individuals.

The mission of Bonsai Finance to empower consumers to better understand and take control of their finances aligns with Operation HOPE’s dedication to financial literacy and economic empowerment. The new partnership will support Operation HOPE´s Project 5117—the organization’s approach to combating economic inequality that aims to improve financial literacy, increase business role models and business internships for youth, and stabilize the American dream by boosting credit scores.

“We’re excited to partner with Operation HOPE to bring more opportunities for financial literacy,” said Bonsai Finance founder and CEO Britton Smith. “Our mission has always been to make simpler the complications of personal finance and put people in charge of their credit and finances, and this partnership will help people to achieve their personal financial goals.” Bonsai Finance has been working to provide individuals with knowledge to help them manage their personal finances responsibly, achieve their financial goals and make informed financial decisions.  Bonsai Finance is committed to the economic empowerment of individuals so that they can improve their standard of living.

Operation HOPE’s programs, offered at no cost to the client, include coaching and counseling on credit and money management, homeownership, small business development, and financial disaster recovery. Programs are tailored to teach participants the “language of money” and to empower them with the fundamentals to build their own businesses, raise their credit scores, buy homes, or simply make better decisions with the money they have. Youth empowerment programs include financial literacy education and entrepreneurism.

“Our programming model helps bridge the gap between being unqualified and being bankable, so in many ways we operate as the ‘private banker to the less than affluent’— working to rehabilitate the credit, financial, and overall wellbeing profile of the individual,” said John Hope Bryant, founder, chairman, and CEO of Operation HOPE. “We are honored to partner with Bonsai Finance to continue to support personal transformation and community uplift by equipping people with the financial tools to own their lives and create a secure future.”

Since 1992, Operation HOPE has been moving America from civil rights to “silver rights” with the mission of making free enterprise and capitalism work for the underserved. Through its core programs, the nonprofit has served more than 2.8 million individuals worldwide, and directed over $2.7 billion in economic activity into disenfranchised communities—turning check cashing customers into banking customers, renters into homeowners, small business dreamers into small business owners, minimum wage workers into living wage consumers, and uncertain disaster victims into financially empowered disaster survivors.
