The 10 Best Credit Cards with No Annual Fee

Credit where credit’s due. Paying with plastic can cost you nothing and even reap you valuable rewards. Paying off your balance in full and on time each month means you’ll be home and dry.

Like the idea of being paid for spending your hard earned cash? Read on for ten of the best credit cards with no annual fee.

1. The Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature Card

Not only is there no annual fee with this card but you’ll also get two percent cash back on all your everyday purchases. There is a requirement that you deposit your rewards into one of six types of Fidelity account.

These are as follows:

  • The Fidelity Charitable Giving Account
  • The Retirement Account
  • The Fidelity Go Account
  • The Fidelity-managed 529 College Savings plan
  • The Brokerage Account
  • The Fidelity Cash Management Account

It is possible to put your rewards into the account of a family member. The company does have no fee cash accounts that you can withdraw from when you’re ready to use your rewards.

This card also offers all the usual benefits of a Visa Signature Card. These include travel and shopping discounts. The card is aimed at those who have a great credit score. If that doesn’t apply to you, then there are others that may be easier to get.

2. The Chase Freedom Card

This card comes with some great incentives. It gives you the opportunity to pick up rewards on different categories of products which rotate every three months.

These rewards work out at five percent cash back or five points per dollar spent up to fifteen hundred dollars. As an example, the first quarter of 2019 allows you to earn these special rewards when you spend at drugstores, gas stations or on tolls.

For the second quarter, it will be grocery and home improvement stores where you’ll get the best rewards. You’ll need to remember to activate the five percent cash back bonus each quarter.

You’ll still earn a lower rate of cashback or points on all other purchases. The card comes with a hundred and fifty dollars or 15,000 points sign-up bonus. This is provided that you spend five hundred dollars on the card in the first three months.

You can use the points to pay for travel through the Ultimate Rewards travel portal. It’s also possible to combine your points with those from certain other cards. These include the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or Ink Business Preferred Credit Card.

This card is a chip and signature card rather than a chip and pin card. That’s usually fine for spending in the U.S.A but may be harder overseas where sometimes only chip and pin cards are accepted.

3. The Discover it Cash Back Card

This card offers similar benefits to the Chase Freedom Card. You’ll earn five percent cash back at different outlets every three months. These range from restaurants and Amazon.com, to gas stations and grocery stores.

The five percent is limited to a maximum of fifteen hundred dollars spent every quarter. After that, you’ll only earn one percent. You’ll also need to remember to follow the activation process.

You can take your cash back in any amount and at any time. Better still, your cash back will never expire. Discover also claims that it will match all the cash back you earned at the end of your first year. That’s done automatically.

This card also has many of the bonuses that Discover has become known for such as no foreign transaction fees.

4. The Citi Double Cash Card

This card offers you rewards twice. It’s one of our top recommended rewards credit cards. You’re going to earn two percent cash back on your purchases. They break down as one percent when you buy and one percent when you pay the card off.

This means if you don’t pay the card’s balance off in full each month, you won’t reap the full rewards on offer.

When your reward balance reaches twenty-five dollars, you can decide how to redeem your cash reward. This could be through a gift card, direct deposit, or statement credit to your Citi account.

If you redeem through a gift card, you’ll be able to choose from shopping, restaurant, entertainment, and electronic gift cards. The direct deposit option allows you to transfer your cash back into your bank account even if it’s not a Citi account.

Other benefits include no penalty for your first missed payment. You’ll also get access to presale tickets and VIP packages for special events.

5. The Uber Visa Card

This card gives you points on specific spend categories that you can then use toward Uber credit, gift cards, or cash back. It is one of the many Visa Rewards Cards.

You’ll get a massive four-percent back on spends at bars and restaurants and on takeouts. This includes UberEats. Next on the list is three percent back on spends related to airfares, hotels, and vacation home rentals.

There’s two percent back on online purchases. These include Uber, video, and music streaming services. There’s then the one percent back on everything else. It’s a useful card if you’re traveling overseas as there are no foreign transaction fees.

The card comes with cellphone insurance of up to six hundred dollars. It also gives you fifty dollars credit for certain subscriptions when you spend five thousand dollars in any given year.

6. The Ink Business Cash Credit Card

This card offers a very impressive five hundred dollar bonus when you spend three thousand dollars on the card in the first three months. The Ink Business Cash Credit Card is aimed at big spenders who perhaps run a business or look after office administration.

You’ll be able to get five percent back on the first twenty-five thousand dollars spent on certain purchases. This includes combined spends at office supply stores and on internet, cable and phone services.

After this, the rate is one percent back on all other purchases.

The two percent rate also applies at certain department stores. If your credit isn’t in the best shape, then you should consider taking out a department store credit card too as this could really help your rating.

You’ll also get two percent back at restaurants, drugstores and gas stations. This decreases to one percent for all other purchases.

Although there is no annual fee, you’ll need to bear in mind that you’ll need a Prime membership. Plans for these cost ninety-nine dollars, or forty-nine dollars for students. Though this card is definitely great to have, it is not worth it if you cannot pay for it, so don’t go out and get a bad credit personal loan just to get one.
