What Is the Best Credit Card for Amazon Purchases?

Spend way too much money on Amazon? You’re not alone. The company has made it easier than ever to get anything you need from its website — everything from household necessities to Halloween costumes. And if you’re an Amazon Prime member, you can expect most of your purchases to reach you in just two days.

If you’re adding things to your cart often enough to be a loyalty member, though, you should be making the most of your money. The best credit cards with rewards programs can help you earn money on all of your Amazon purchases — but which one should you get?

Read on to learn our picks for the best credit card for Amazon purchases.

Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature

Amazon has two of its own credit cards, so it should be no surprise that the Prime Rewards Visa Signature is first on our list. This card offers an amazing 5% cash back on all of your Amazon and Whole Foods purchases. If you shop at either site often, this can translate to a good chunk of change back in your pocket.

For purchases outside of Amazon or Whole Foods, the card offers 2% cash back on things like gas, restaurants, and drugstore purchases, plus 1% on everything else.

You do need to be a Prime member already to apply for this card, but aside from the Prime membership cost, there are no annual fees associated with the card. There are no foreign transaction fees, either, which travelers will love.

Plus, you get a $70 Amazon gift card as a sign-up bonus!

Amazon Rewards Visa

If you’re not a Prime member but still shop at Amazon relatively often, you can apply for the Amazon Rewards Visa. The cash back value isn’t as high here, but it’s still pretty respectable. Instead of 5% back at Amazon and Whole Foods, you’ll earn 3% back.

The rest of the perks are the same as the Prime Rewards Visa Signature card — you’ll still get 2% cash back on gas, restaurants, and drugstores, 1% everywhere else, and there’s no annual fee to use the card.

You’ll get a $50 Amazon gift card once you’re approved instead of a $70 card, but that’s the only other difference.

The Best Credit Card for Amazon Purchases

So between the two cards above, which one is the best Amazon credit card?

If you already have Prime, you should absolutely go for the Signature card. The card rewards are fantastic, especially if you’re a frequent Amazon or Whole Foods shopper. That’s a no-brainer.

We would only recommend choosing the Amazon Rewards Visa if you don’t want to commit to paying $119 a year for Amazon Prime.

No matter which one of these you choose, though, you’ll be able to enjoy great rewards.
